Welcome to the Watchers' Rewatch
We are a weekly release podcast that will be rewatching and revisiting both 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)' and its spinoff 'Angel (1999)'. Join us as we journey through the Buffyverse, one episode at a time.
Who are we?
Richard Jago
Martial arts school owner and Buffy fan since 1998. Probably responsible for most of the action-packed analysis.
Tish Watson
Engineer and fellow Watcher. Likely responsible for the fashion commentary and mathematical discussions of Buffy's jump height.
We've been friends for over 20 years, having met while acting together in something far less action-packed than Buffy or Angel. We've been fans of the show since around the end of 1998 (look, it didn't release in the UK until then, ok?).
What's the structure of each episode?
Each episode begins with:
- The title and season/episode number
- A piece of compelling advice relating to the episode
- A favourite quote
Then we dive into discussion covering:
- Characters and story analysis
- Specific events and tie-ins
- Shout-outs, callbacks, and callforwards(es?)
- Tangents lasting 15+ minutes (available on our Patreon feed)
- How we feel about Xander in this episode
- Fashion comments (well, one of us will...)
- Discussion of how the mathematics of Buffy's jump height play out
- And much more!
Each episode concludes with:
- A roundoff (the non-gymnastic kind) of stats
- A highlighted guest star
- Style ratings for the episode
- Overall episode rating from 'S' (highest) to 'F' (though no Buffy or Angel episode rates as 'E' or 'F', obviously. No, not even that one)
- Preview of next week's episode
